Backstop

Release notes

What changed, in the order it changed. The app checks for updates once a day and verifies every download against a signature before installing it.

1.0.3 — September 2026

Scheduled backups were not running. In 1.0.0 through 1.0.2 a backup ran only when you pressed a button; the schedule you chose — hourly, or daily at a time — did nothing, and neither did the weekly check, the monthly read-back, or the monthly restore drill. They run on schedule now. Backstop also adds itself to your Login Items so the schedule has a running app; you can turn that off in System Settings.

1.0.2 — September 2026

1.0.1 — September 2026

Every 1.0.0 install should update. Backstop 1.0.0 backed up through an APFS snapshot and, because of a mistake in how the snapshot was excluded from itself, every backup it took contained no files while reporting success. Backstop checks for this update once a day; you can also download it below.

1.0.0 — September 2026

The first release.
